The primary reason, according to sources from the publication, is dissatisfaction with the ineffective work of diplomats. As reported by the sources, the president plans to replace at least 20 ambassadors, but candidates for all positions have not yet been determined. The main issue is the lack of individuals willing to take on ambassadorial roles, as well as a shortage of suitable people within the president's team.
According to sources, it has already been decided who will replace the ambassador to Germany, Alexey Makeev; the current ambassador to Israel, Evgeny Korniychuk, has been approved for this position. The ambassadorial position in Israel remains vacant for now.
Moreover, it is expected that the ambassador to Slovenia, Andrey Taran, and the ambassador to China, Pavel Ryabikin, will be dismissed. The latter, according to a source, chose to resign due to health issues.
Additionally, there are plans to replace the ambassador of Ukraine in Canada, Yulia Kovaliv. The president is dissatisfied with her work with the diaspora, and there was a scandal involving a former SS veteran that has yet to be resolved, noted a source from the publication.
There is also an ongoing discussion regarding the ambassador of Ukraine in Moldova, where they intended to send former NSDC Secretary Alexey Danilov. "At one point, he stopped communicating, did not submit documents, and went into hiding, and now he has gone to work somewhere in a defense company," the source reported.
A decision regarding the new ambassador in Moldova has not yet been made, although some contacts within the diplomatic corps mention the name Puan Rogovei, who is currently working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Furthermore, there is still no decision on the replacement of Ukraine's ambassador to the USA, Oksana Markarova. According to a source, the president agrees that she needs to be replaced, but there are currently no candidates for her position. Some sources indicate that Markarova will serve out her term until the end of her mandate in February.
