The police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting at warehouses in the Kyiv region. This was stated by Yana Yermolenko, the chief specialist of the communications department of the Kyiv regional police, in a comment to UNIAN, responding to a question about a video on social media that allegedly shows a man in military uniform shooting at a loader on the premises of the warehouses in the village of Shchaslyve in the Kyiv region.

"The Kyiv regional police are establishing the circumstances of this incident. Initially, representatives of the Territorial Defense Units (TDU) were present at the scene. There were no injuries as a result of these actions," she reported.

Currently, the exact details of the events that took place there are still being determined. In particular, it is still unknown what the man was shooting with. A review of surveillance camera footage is planned.

Yermolenko also clarified that these events occurred today, November 15, in the village of the Boryspil district.

Subsequently, the Ministry of Defense stated that it is looking into the information regarding the incident involving the use of firearms by a representative of the TCC in Shchaslyve.

"To clarify the circumstances, the Main Inspection of the Ministry of Defense (GIMO) has initiated a review of the legality of the actions of the TCC representative and the grounds for using firearms," the agency noted.

The Ministry of Defense also added that if facts of abuse of power or signs of a criminal offense are established, the materials will be forwarded to law enforcement for further investigation and appropriate action.

Later, the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kyiv region reported that Kyiv police investigators had opened a criminal case regarding the shooting in the village of Shchaslyve. The actions of one of the alert group representatives were classified as hooliganism.

The police noted that at 08:50, during a social media monitoring, a video was discovered in one of the Telegram channels showing a man in uniform shooting at another man.

Investigators found that the alert group, under the order of the Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center, was checking men for military registration documents near one of the enterprises. During the document check, a passenger got out of the car and ran onto the enterprise's premises.

"At that moment, a representative of the volunteer formation, who was part of the alert group, independently decided to chase him and fired two shots into the air. As a result of the incident, there were no injuries. Police seized a device for firing rubber balls and cartridges," the message stated.

Thus, investigators from the Boryspil police department qualified the actions of the TDU representative under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanction of the article provides for up to seven years of imprisonment.

Other cases involving firearms

As reported by UNIAN, on November 14, near the building of the Khust District Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center in Transcarpathia, an unknown man fired several shots into the air and attempted to enter the building of the recruitment center.

The spokesperson for the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Transcarpathian region, Anna Dan, stated that the man was shooting from a starting pistol. Law enforcement detained him at the scene. No one was injured as a result of the incident.

The man was held administratively responsible for petty hooliganism. After the protocol was drawn up, he was released.

"Suspilne," citing sources in law enforcement, noted that the detained individual is a former military man who was discharged from the Armed Forces of Ukraine due to health reasons. According to the source, the man fired because he was upset that he was not being mobilized.
