In Kyiv, a shooting incident occurred at a hotel in the Pechersk district, leading to the shooter being charged with intentional homicide. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General.
According to the investigation, on November 23, around 12:30 AM, a conflict erupted between two groups of men at the hotel in Pechersk, which escalated into a brawl. One of the participants pulled out a gun and fired several shots, injuring a hotel security guard and two men. The shooter then fled the scene.
"As a result of the gunshot wound, a hotel resident died on the spot, while his acquaintance and the hotel security guard sustained gunshot wounds to the chest and were taken to the hospital," the statement said.
It was noted that law enforcement detained the suspects in accordance with Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Under the procedural supervision of the Pechersk District Prosecutor's Office in Kyiv, two residents from Dnipro and Vasylkiv were charged with hooliganism committed by a group using firearms (Part 2, 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine):
"In addition, the resident of Vasylkiv has also been charged with intentional homicide (Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)."
Meanwhile, the Kyiv police reported that the shooting took place at the "Sky Loft" hotel. The weapon was hidden under one of the parked cars, and the suspect fled the scene.
"The suspect is a resident of the Kyiv region, against whom there are currently pending indictments in courts for a number of criminal offenses. He faces up to 15 years in prison," the statement noted.
Additionally, the Kyiv police informed that the shooting occurred at the "Sky Loft" hotel. The crime weapon was concealed under one of the parked vehicles as the suspect attempted to escape.
"The suspect is a resident of the Kyiv region, who currently has pending indictments in courts concerning multiple criminal offenses. He could face up to 15 years behind bars," the statement added.
According to the communications department of the Kyiv police, the man who fired shots at the "Sky Loft" hotel will be held in custody during the investigation. The Pechersk District Court of Kyiv has chosen this preventive measure for the suspect.
"Today, the court has chosen a preventive measure of non-alternative detention," the statement read.
Murder at a Kyiv Hotel
As reported by UNIAN, a shooting occurred in one of Kyiv's hotels on the night of November 23, resulting in the death of a 27-year-old man and several others being injured. At that time, police stated that a conflict had arisen between two groups in the hotel, which subsequently escalated into a fight where one of the participants drew a weapon and fired several shots at the opponents.
Kyiv Telegram channels noted that the shooting took place at the Sky Loft hotel, located near the "Palace of Sports" metro station.
