In Khmelnytskyi, a drunk driver collided with two vehicles, then crashed into a public transport stop, resulting in the death of three people.
According to reports from the Khmelnytskyi region police, the accident occurred today, November 18, at 07:20 at a stop on Zarichanska Street, 9.
"The driver of the 'BMW X6', while traveling on Zarichanska Street, made a glancing collision with 'Skoda Octavia' and 'Mazda', after which he crashed into the public transport stop," the statement said.
As a result of the accident, three women (aged 60, 56, and 53) who were standing at the stop succumbed to their injuries.

It is noted that the driver was behind the wheel showing clear signs of intoxication. Police detained him at the scene.
In connection with this incident, investigators have opened a criminal case under Part 4 of Article 286-1 (Violation of traffic safety rules or operation of vehicles by individuals driving under the influence, leading to the death of several persons) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty for this article ranges from 7 to 12 years in prison.

In October, in Lviv, a tram driver ran over a two-year-old boy and his grandmother who were crossing the tram tracks at a pedestrian crossing.
According to law enforcement, the driver is a 50-year-old resident of Lviv who was operating the tram under the influence of alcohol and drugs.
As a result of the incident, the boy's grandmother sustained injuries and was hospitalized, while the grandson was unharmed.
