The police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting at the warehouses in the Kyiv region. This was stated by Yana Yermolenko, the chief specialist of the communications department of the Kyiv regional police, in a comment to UNIAN, in response to a question about a video on social media, in which a man in military uniform allegedly shoots at a loader on the territory of the warehouses in the village of Shtastlive in the Kyiv region.
"The Kyiv regional police are establishing the circumstances of this incident. Representatives of the DFTG (volunteer territorial community formation - UNIAN) were reportedly present at the scene. There are no injuries as a result of these actions," she stated.
Currently, the exact circumstances of the events that occurred there are still being determined. In particular, it is not yet known what the man was shooting with. A review of surveillance camera footage is planned.
Yermolenko also clarified that these events took place today, November 15, in the village of the Boryspil district.
Later, the Ministry of Defense announced that it is reviewing information about the incident involving the use of weapons by an employee of the TCC in Shtastlive.
"To clarify the circumstances, the Main Inspection of the Ministry of Defense (GIMO) has begun an inspection of the legality of the actions of the TCC representative and the grounds for the use of weapons," the agency noted.
The Ministry of Defense also added that if facts of abuse of office or signs of a criminal offense are established, the materials will be sent to law enforcement agencies for further investigation and appropriate decisions.
Subsequently, it was reported on the website of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kyiv region that investigators of the Kyiv police have initiated a criminal case regarding the shooting in the village of Shtastlive. The actions of one of the alert group representatives were qualified as hooliganism.
The police noted that at 08:50, during the monitoring of social media, a video was discovered that was posted in one of the Telegram channels, showing a man in uniform shooting at another man.
As investigators found out, the alert group, by order of the territorial center for staffing and social support, was checking men for military registration documents near one of the enterprises. During the document check, a passenger exited the vehicle and ran onto the enterprise's territory.
"At that moment, a representative of the volunteer formation, who was part of the alert group, took it upon himself to chase him and fired two shots into the air. As a result of the incident, there are no injuries. Police seized a device for firing rubber balls and cartridges," the statement said.
Thus, the investigators of the Boryspil police department qualified the actions of the DFTG representative under part 4 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The sanctions of the article provide for up to seven years of imprisonment.
