Russian Russian occupying forces attacked a convoy of IAEA in Zaporizhzhia. This was reported by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

"On the road in Zaporizhzhia region – an area where Russia continues to illegally hold the nuclear power plant it has seized – a Russian FPV drone attacked the IAEA convoy, which is tasked with ensuring nuclear safety worldwide," the statement reads.

It is noted that the strike targeted one of the vehicles in the convoy. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries.

"This attack clearly demonstrated Russia's attitude towards everything related to international law, international institutions, and security. The Russians could not have been unaware of their target. They knew exactly what they were doing and acted deliberately," Zelensky emphasized.

The President stressed that this incident requires a "clear and decisive response" from both the IAEA and other international partners.

"Silence or inaction will only encourage further crimes," he added.

In turn, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi condemned the attack as "unacceptable":

"A drone attacked and seriously damaged an official IAEA vehicle on its way to the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant today, which Rafael Grossi condemned as an 'unacceptable' attack on agency staff working to prevent a nuclear accident during the military conflict," the IAEA statement said.

Russian Attacks on Ukraine

On December 10, in the afternoon, Russian terrorists struck Zaporizhzhia. The enemy attacked the city center with a ballistic missile – likely an "Iskander," said the head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional State Administration, Ivan Fedorov.

As of 8:00 PM, three deaths and 20 injuries had been reported as a result of the Russian strike. Thirteen people were hospitalized, while seven refused hospitalization.

Among the injured was a 5-year-old girl. Medical assistance was provided to the child on site.
