"To facilitate the withdrawal from the Syrian Republic, Russians have deployed a convoy of military transport aircraft, which are loaded with the remnants of troops, weapons, and military equipment. Several An-124 and Il-76MD planes are scheduled to fly from the Khmeimim airbase to airfields in Ulyanovsk, Chkalovsky, and Privolzhsky," the report states.
According to Ukrainian military intelligence, Moscow plans to send the cargo ship Sparta II and the large landing ship "Alexander Shabalin" from Baltiysk in the Kaliningrad region of the Russian Federation (Baltic Sea) to the Syrian port of Tartus, where Russian forces are stationed.
"The large landing ships of the Northern Fleet of Russia, "Alexander Otrakovsky" and "Ivan Gren," have set course for the Mediterranean Sea. The operation "Syrian Withdrawal" also involves enemy frigates "Admiral Gorshkov" and "Admiral Golovko." In the port of Tartus, Russians are conducting emergency dismantling of equipment and military property. Several hundred Russian special forces have already arrived to ensure the safety of the withdrawal," the GUR reported.
Ukrainian scouts believe that Russian authorities are counting on agreements with anti-government forces in Syria for a smooth exit from the country.
"Even representatives of the so-called Moscow diplomacy no longer label the groups rising against Assad's regime as 'terrorists,' instead demonstrating a neutral, even 'friendly' public rhetoric," the GUR noted.
The agency claims that "among the remnants of the Russian contingent in Syria, frustration and oppression are occurring."
"Muscovites are even expressing dissatisfaction with their leaders and commanders, including their organizational ineffectiveness. One of the military bases with Russian troops is under siege," emphasized the GUR.
