According to Yatsenyuk, as long as Trump is at the helm of the White House, Ukraine is unlikely to become a NATO member.
"It's unfortunate that the current administration [of the USA] has not seized two opportunities to grant Ukraine NATO membership – both in the past and this year. And already now, before the end of this year, it is clear that we won't even receive an invitation to join," Yatsenyuk noted.
At the same time, he is confident that the United States under Trump will not capitulate to Russia; otherwise, one of the possible consequences could be Russia's takeover of Ukraine.
"This is also a scenario with virtually zero probability," Yatsenyuk explained.
Therefore, he stated that the Ukrainian authorities and Western allies must explain to Trump that a Russian victory would mean a defeat for the United States against all dictatorial regimes.
"Not just against Russia, but against China, North Korea, Iran, Russia, Hamas, Hezbollah, and dozens of other dictatorial regimes that wish to see the downfall of the USA," Yatsenyuk emphasized.
The head of the KFB added that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and the entire Presidential Office must "try to achieve the incredible – to convince Trump that this is in the interests of the USA and personally in Trump's interests."
