He responded to the question of whether it is possible to reach an agreement with the current Ukrainian authorities regarding the exhumation of the victims of the Volhynia tragedy.
"I must say that I am disappointed because the Ukrainian Foreign Minister promised me progress on this issue by All Saints' Day [November 1]. Time has passed, and there is no progress. We believe that burying even the bodies of enemies according to Christian rites is part of the European cultural code. And Ukraine seems to agree with this, as it allowed the exhumation of 100,000 Wehrmacht soldiers who came there as occupiers," noted Sikorski.
He added that the only thing the Polish side needs in this matter is consent to resume exhumations that were suspended in 2017.
